Hello Lane Families….
Here are some notes and pictures to keep you updated on what has been happening at Lane recently:
-Hats off to the Bedford Education Foundation (BEF) for hosting a 1980s-theme fundraiser Saturday night at the Doubletree Hotel. For those who might not know, the BEF gives out grants to Bedford teachers to try out innovative ideas in the classroom.
-Our new cafeteria addition should be ready at the end of February vacation. The West Wing addition is still scheduled to be finished by the end of summer.
-Our Grade 3 students had a visit from Sarah Wroblewski, a meteorologist at local Fox News. All Grade 3 students learn about the weather as part of their science curriculum. I appreciated Sarah talking to the students about her job and how it involves science, math, and even some art.
Here is picture of Sarah talking with a few Grade 3 students
Our Grade 4 students visited Lowell Mills as part of their study of the Northeast region and the role of manufacturing.
As part of our library maker space, students in several classrooms got to build and program robots
Great picture of this Gr 3 student, who elected to “purchase” a fine dining experience courtesy of Ms Nolan (note the flowers and fancy glass)
When you read this, hopefully the Patriots will have won (that is Mr Kinney below on Friday)
