Today I observed our grade 4 students learning about heart rates in gym class. The PE teachers had the students running around and then stopping to get their pulse and listen to their heart rate with a stethoscope (below). This was a great way for us to integrate health science into a PE class and realize the power in interdisciplinary studies (mixing PE with Science). What other subjects can we bring together to maximize student learning? How could math and art support each other? Music and Engineering?
