A successful school has to inspire and give students opportunity to create. But are school killing creativity? That is what Ken Robinson argues in this interview. Sir Ken makes a strong case that schools need to give students a wide range of subjects, “The arts, sciences, humanities, physical education, languages and maths all have equal and central contributions to make to a student’s education.”.
Last week we had another fantastic concert by our music staff. This Band, Orchestra and Chorus Concert gave the audience another reminder of why music is so important and how Bedford does such a great job supporting it.
I was lucky enough to join our Orchestra as the “guest” violinist. You get to see things very differently when you are backstage with student musicians as they prepare to perform. They have a focus. A confidence. An understanding of audience. The kids were great and I thank them for helping me get my one note correct.
