Celebrating Differences Part One

March 11, 2011 · 1 Comment

This week we had visitors as part of the BEST- sponsored Celebrating Differences Program.  The guests, who were blind, talked with the students about their differences and how they are still able to live successful lives. This tied in nicely with  our theme of the month being “perseverance.”  What is it like to navigate through life without sight?  What can we learn from these inspirational people?  We want our students to know that you can’t give up, and that success often is the result of persevering.

We also referenced this video in our talk today for our Friday School Meeting. Worth checking out!

I had the privilege of escorting Mr. Gray around the Lane school yesterday to speak to the children. He is truly inspirational and an amazing example of perseverance. Great program with wonderful messages for our young learners.
